Spacious Convenience in Galveston, Texas
Dolphin Lodge is a sprawling home in a quiet neighborhood just 2 blocks (5 minute walk) to the Seawall beach. The four bedrooms sleep up to 12 people comfortably. There's a Captain's suite with king bed and attached bathroom, a second king room, a queen room, and a bunk bed room including a double bed and trundle. Save money using the very well-equipped kitchen. In addition to standard appliances including coffee makers (both Keurig and drip style) and microwave, there are lots of extras such as waffle maker, blender, rice cooker, plus lots of utensils, baking pans, and more. The oven, dishwasher, and microwave are recently new. You can go out or stay in and play in the game room -- the pool table rotates to air hockey or converts to ping pong. Enjoy some of the family board games, watch shows on the 65" TV, or retreat to your comfortable bedrooms, each with its own TV. Our smallest visitors can use the high chair, booster, and pack 'n play. At the end of the day, relax on the large, west-facing, covered patio to watch one of Galveston's beautiful sunsets.
Two blocks away is your beach access to the famous Seawall. Restaurants abound, including the entertaining Rainforest Cafe with its erupting volcano. When you're on the go, there are dozens of fast food and family-friendly options within walking distance. Kroger grocery store and the Convention Center are a stone's throw (1.5 blocks) away. The 61st Street Fishing Pier is an easy walk, too. You'll be exactly halfway between Moody Gardens/Schlitterbahn and the Pleasure Pier, at 2.5 miles from each. So, it's easy to enjoy Moody's Rainforest, Aquarium, Imax, and Palm Beach. During Mardi Gras, two major parades pass by on the Seawall near the house. The Strand entertainment district and historic sea port are only a 12 minute drive. In the other direction, Galveston Island State Park is just a 15 minute drive. If you want peace and quiet, literally in the middle of everything, Dolphin Lodge is the place!
